The Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge (Second Bosporus Bridge)

The Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge (The Second Bosporus Bridge)
It is 1,510 m long with a deck width of 39 m. The distance between the towers (main span) is 1,090 m and their height over road level is 105 m. The clearance of the bridge from sea level is 64 m.

This bridge is 14th longest suspension bridge in the world. (it was 6th longest when it was completed in 3 July 1988)

The bridge was designed by Freeman Fox & Partners (British firm, now it was acquired and renamed as Hyder Consulting) as well as the Bosporus Bridge.

Freeman Fox & Partners built an international reputation through the 20th century in bridge and highway projects. One I would emphasize that they designed Victoria Falls Bridge completed in 1905 on the Zambezi River just right down stream of the Victoria Falls.
